Ranbir Kapoor opens up about doing Raj Kapoor’s biopic at IFFI 2024; says, “I talk to lot of people, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali”

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor attended the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). During the media interaction, the Brahmastra actor talked about his dream to make a biopic on his late grandfather Raj Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor reveals discussing Raj Kapoor’s biopic with Sanjay Leela Bhansali

During IFFI 2024, Ranbir stated that he had discussed creating the biopic of Raj Kapoor with many, including filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He expressed, “I talk to a lot of people, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, about how to make a biopic on Mr. Raj Kapoor. A biopic is not just something which highlights the success in a person’s life, you truly have to portray someone’s life honestly—the lows, struggles, and relationship dynamics.”

Ranbir further added, “It’s a very tough biopic to make. I don’t know if my family would also agree for most of the things to show this side of Raj Kapoor. But I think it would really make a great movie.”

Furthermore, Ranbir will be working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Love & War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. This film marks his second collaboration with Bhansali after 2007’s Saawariya. Speaking about it, he said, “I’m excited to work with Mr. Bhansali again. Even after 17 years, it still feels the same. I respect him so much; he hasn’t changed at all. All he thinks about is his movies.”

Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming projects

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor has just completed filming Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana alongside Sai Pallavi. Additionally, Ranbir is also going to film Animal Park with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, another romantic film featuring Alia Bhatt.
